What’s For Lunch BC is growing, check it out!

Scott Graham ^sg

I’m the head lunch eater/editor/publisher/glutton of What’s For Lunch BC. I like Scotch, cigars, craft beer, good food and long walks on the beach. I wear glasses made of wood for the sole purpose of starting conversations and I fix elevators for money. This blog is my “I wish it was my full time job” job. I have a wife, a daughter and a large dog who has horrible breath. My culinary experience includes stints at A&W and Dairy Queen in High School and one memorable day of catering with The Roaming Dragon. This is why I’m an “expert”.

Rochele Potter ^R

Sometimes I’m inventing food, sometimes I’m eating it, but let’s agree that food is awesome and it should be shared. My name is Rochele and I’m the very first What’s for Lunch BC intern. I love to cook and bake and I’m always searching for tasty, uncomplicated recipes. At the age of ten, my mom made me responsible for planning and executing one family dinner a week. It gave me a profound sense of creativity and I’ve never looked back. I appreciate food and when I find something good (or bad), I want to share it with you.

Bragging rights: my Yorkshire pudding/pop-overs always rise. The secret  is to put a small amount of bacon fat in each cup, and put it in the oven at 450F until it is nearly smoking (between 3-5 mins) then add the batter. You’re welcome.

PS- Strawberry milkshakes are where it’s at. This will be a recurring theme, you can count on it.

  1. Speking of cheese. Carmelised Ognion cheddar at The Roadhouse bakery/Deli. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOOD.

  2. I just wanted to say I love reading your posts (and looking at the pictures!) Your writing really helps me better imagine the food you’re having and has given me a better image of how I can improve my food writing. Next time I’m in Canada, I’ll be sure to take a look at the places you mentioned.

PS The picture of the giant burger is a big plus in my book. ;)

Didn’t somebody shrink wrap you to a bench one time?

  4. wow…just stumbled upon your site and is it ever negative! 3 of 4 articles currently on your opening page start with something like, “normally, i love this, but today they shit the bed.”

i love that you’re trying to do a food blog about your experiences, but constant negative critics are really difficult to read.

where’s the discussion of flavour, presentation, etc.

    It’s easy to be negative.

    • Thanks for your comments I really appreciate that you’ve taken the time to read my blog. If you look a little further past the opening page you will see that over all I have really enjoyed most places I have been, just on a bit of a bad streak right now.

A few weeks ago I was wondering if I would get a comment that I was too positive! That’s life I guess. I tell it like it is and if the food is not good then I say it’s not good. I hope you continue reading and if you live in or are planning on visiting Vancouver that I can help you find somewhere really great to eat.

      Thanks again.

      Scott.
